When it’s a question of locating buried plastic pipes and non-metal cables and utility lines quickly and reliably, there’s no alternative to KELMAPLAST detectable tapes – regardless of whether it’s for the prevention of time- and cost-relevant damage during earthworks or for monitoring purposes and functional tests.

All conventional methods of detection can be used. In addition to galvanic and inductive detection, a special detectable tape has also been developed for very low frequency (VLF) detection.

As with all other KELMAPLAST products, the utility type and the owner of each detectable tape are printed on the tape, which then is laminated for protection.

The materials used are absolutely environmentally neutral.
The length of tape can be extended as required during the laying process by joining tapes end to end with simple, easy-to-use crimp connectors and fixing them in place with the aid of the KELMAPLAST crimping tool.

Detecting non-metal pipelines and utility line networks has never been so simple.

KELMAPLAST Detectable Tape No 06 – Cu 1+1/2+1 with copper wire

No 06 Cu 1+1

No 06 Cu 2+1

KELMAPLAST detectable tapes nos 06 Cu 1+1 06 Cu 2+1 were developed in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences in Hanover in accordance with DIN 54841-3 – especially for use with the very low frequency method. With these tapes, both active detection and reliable connection checks along the entire line pose no problem at all. Regular gaps in the transparent tape above the naked copper wire ensure optimum detection results. Ten times greater conductivity makes for convincing results
– over both extremely short and long distances,
– where geographical factors reduce wave accessibility,
– where line directions are unfavourable, ground conditions are poor, metal lines are close by, and utility lines are buried deep in the ground.

KELMAPLAST Detectable Tape No 06 – with steel wire

KELMAPLAST detectable tape no 06 consists of two stainless steel wires, each 0.55 mm in diameter, sinusoidally laminated between two PE sheets. Here, too, a continuous gap in the transparent lamination ensures adequate contact with the ground for detection of the necessary magnetic field. Standard colours: yellow, blue, green, red; other dimensions and colours on request; the standard print colour is black; length: 250 m.

KELMAPLAST Detectable Tape No 04 – with stainless steel strip

KELMAPLAST PE detectable tape No 04 has a stainless steel strip 10 mm wide and 0.1mm thick on the underside of the tape, which remains in continuous contact with the ground to ensure perfect earthing. Standard colours: yellow, blue, green, red; other dimensions and colours on request; the standard print colour is black; length: 250 m.
